I left my boat in Campoloro for two winters. It's completely dead in the winter.
Solenzara is a bit more lively. Or you could try the west coast. I see from FrenchTV (I'm in a hotel in Soissons on wifi driving back from Trieste), that a 100kph Mistral is forecast tomorrow!!
At least I think that's the units they're using.

I see you're in a Catalac. A guy in Nautec Monfalcone recently fitted two Nanni diesels to an Oceanic (circa 40yrs old!!) and it now does 8.5 kts under power!
Ever since the seventies I've had a dim view of August weather.
This year has been worse than most. Maybe August in Scandinavia and back to sailing in September?
Actually you've still got time to come up the Adriatic to Monfie!!

Calvi, Ile Rousse, St Florent, Bastia, Porto Vecchio, Bonafaccio, Figari and Ajaccio are all accessible to airports whilst retaining some life in the winter. Both Ile Rousse and Figari are cheap in the summer so should be even cheaper during the winter.
