If you have a small sportscruiser like me, where do you store your tenders outboard? Thought about attaching a bracket to the stern, but that will look fugly?

Ricky, we put a bracket to the back of our Monterey to store the outboard and it looked just fine.

we bought the complete backboard and bracket adjustable to fit up to 1.5 inch rails from memory. If I understand you correctly. We just attached it to the rail at the back of the boat, fiddled to get the height right and it was perfect. Not cheap for a bit of wood with brackets from Force Four but we're no good at making stuff like that so we shelled out. Sure it must be easy to make one for a fraction of the cost tho.

Ah, hadn't thought of one you could attach to the rail. That would probably be quite neat, though expensive, as you say.

We had an outboard bracket in the engine bay of our Targa 30, I've seen 34's keep them under a seat.

Me and a gwalia both have Sealineline S28's, we have installed a piece of hard wood similar to a transom back plate, fixed to the swim platform's rail, works fine, you just tighten up the outboard clamps to fix.
Just use a bit of caution as to which side of the boat you step off from as may be a bit tight when you have to go past said bracket and outboard. Does work well though.

If you have a two stroke outboard for your tender you can store it anywhere - it does not have be be stored upright....

I made my own
I looked around marinas to see what others had on the back of their boats.
My bracket is made from 2 pieces of hardwood from the timberyard (I got a length of windowsill for the thickness and price). I used a router to cut out sections to go round the back rails and then 4 bolts to hold it together.
It covers the upright in my rear rails but also rests on the bodywork so not all the force is put through the rail fixixng
I have to admit I did enjoy making it!
I could only find the rail in one picture ( and that was from the stern) so had to blow it up abit

What happens with the canopy? Rafiki had a bracket on the pushpit, but you could not close the canopy over the o/board, so I took it off.

No christmas presents in this house, couldn't afford them as we need to pay for the new boat in January!
As for the shadows - schoolboy error

Having sold our yacht at the end of September we can't wait to get back afloat. Have booked a week off in early February which will see us cruising the various fuel pontoons in the Solent while trying to master the handling of a rudderless boat!
Give us a wave if you see us although I would recommend keeping your distance until we have the handling nailed............
