More Chinese diesel heater questions

I also have found the Chinaspacer size / output a tad random. My first is a 2kw . Fitted onboat 2 years now and problem free operation. I was so impressed I ordered an identical as a spare. That arrived bigger unit larger air input and output diameter. Same base plate same exhaust connector.
This is now installed temporarily in garage.
Considering a third once their around 80.00 again

I need a heater for my workshop - just when I'm in there and winters temps fall to -20 etc. I have electric oil filled radiators in there at moment but turned down to stop my laser gear etc from freezing.
I am seriously looking at either another Vevor unit in the 'suitcase' or as I have now - the separate module style.

Were the combustion inlet and exhaust the same 24mm on the 2kw as the 5kw?
I take it you mean the warm air ducting was smaller? Most 2kw have 60mm duct instead of 75mm.
I’m not too concerned about the ducting, that just needs a cheap adaptor, it’s the expensive exhaust and mount I’d rather not replace.
Correct. Warm air duct was different size. Everything else bolted back on perfectly. Only used the body and pump from the Chinese kit. All else was proper stainless from eber/Web.

I have the full kit from Vevor ... but will source better pipework / clips etc ....

That's the main points covered by so many videos / posts ....

I also intend to 'double' insulate the exhaust because it will pass through the transom locker and even though will be shielded from other gear - I want to be certain.

ours was a vevor kit. we bought the genuine exhaust kit and loads of other stuff from melloronline. proper ebber stuff. dont compromise on the exhaust and other fittings. ours works perfect through the cockpit locker with heat shielding/wrap from the local canal boatyard. heres a copy of the invoiced items to compare.

One problem I will need to solve is the source of the replacement pipework ... clips and insulation are not a problem as that's available locally. I will be talking to guy who did all the heating installation in the house ..... different field I know - but he I am sure will have good advice.
I also have friends who are Metal Masters etc - so I could even if necessary have piping in Stainless made to fit.

For a diesel heater, the first problem for me is diesel smell, not too bad, it just appears when turn on and off. What annoy me best is tiktik noise. Tried different brands, I finnally get nice quiet time:coffee:

Which brand turned out to be quietest?

Has anyone come across or fitted a Nord-Kapp unit? (Air heaters)
Seems to be a good balance between chinese and expensive brands.
2 year warranty and CE marked which seems to be a bonus compared to cheaper units

Actually my friend found it on Youtube for me, LF Bros, quite a lot people recommend this on diesel heater channel, but seems just one model, the black one know what I need, really a long time to get one, but it's worthy for me

Just run it hot and hard, always used whatever fuel was put into main fuel tank , never had any problems

Have fitted or help to install both Russian and Chinese heaters on boats, as far as I am aware I and all the boats are still here.
In most cases it was just fiddling to make new unit connect to existing ducting.
Vital that pump is changed at same time, different pulse rates ?, a removed genuine Eber pump ,sold on Ebay, for not that much less than a complete new chinese 2K heater.

Watched with interest as the prices rose and then fell again pre and post Covid.
