We are experiencing problems with our Waeco fridge/freezer. I have been searching for troubleshooting and a contact for Waeco, but have been unable to find anything.

It's a 40 l coolbox/freezer which works on 12v and 24v. It is about 5 years old and is properly installed on our boat with sufficient ventilation etc. Usually it is on all the time at around -16 to -18. This year it was empty and switched off for 4 months, until the beginning of this month. It is full with bags of ice and frozen food, and is set to go to -18, but it doesn't seem to want to go below -3/-4. The lights seem to be functioning as normal and the unit is quiet; it doesn't appear to be working extra hard or overheating, it's been on for over 2 weeks.

Any thoughts?

Hi I have a Waeco CR40 fridge aboard which I had problems with last year and I have to say the response from Waeco was disappointing to say the least.

However I managed to find a local fridge repair/maintenance company that maintain shop fridges etc, many of which also have the same Danfoss compressors, they fixed my fridge no problem
only downside is you have to take your fridge out to take it to a repair shop but hey that's no big deal getting it fixed is the bonus.

The last one we had was an Engel which caught fire, that was an interesting afternoon! Yes I think will try and find out who services all the bars and shop etc around the place.

Thanks for taking the time.
