I toss in the ice, fill with gin to cover the ice and top up with tonic.
There diesn't seem to be much space for tonic.

I don't need a lot of gin in my tonic, just enough to give it a bit of bite, but I'm more of a single malt man and, for me, ice in a good whisky is sacrilege - it stuns the volatile oils, ruining the taste. Just add enough water so it doesn't sting the nose when you smell it, and enjoy.

I find that Ice Stones do not dilute my malt and don't need a freezer, just place them on the cooling element in the fridge.

Still the problem with whisky losing its flavour if it's too cold. Great for gin, though.

Having stopped by and had a free taster session in Salcombe at 0930 hrs in the morning as you do going food shopping We both decided this one was delicious and bought a bottle. We drank it before getting back home to the Solent, so have ordered another bottle for Xmas.
