I could go on but I wont. Harley survived cos that arch capitalist Ronald Reagan effectively banned competitor imports and they are as up to date as flared trousers.
Ditto boats with extended keels or long keels. The latter were a necessity when boats were made of wood, and with internal ballast. But nowadays with water ballast, canting keels, bulbs all on decent beamy hulls - a long keel boat is as up to date as a Morris Minor.
