Unwelcome thoughts...

Thanks Ian - yes I was genuinely asking for opinions, not just posting for the sake of it.

There's a boat of this ilk in our harbour, I may just blag a go on it to satisfy my curiosity.

I agree with Ian. If your love affair with the boat has waned and when you go for a trip you worry about the next breakage then I'd try a few of the cheap alternatives. Get a few outings in them and see what you think.

Provided that running costs are not crippling you, I suspect that you will then decide to keep what you've got. If for no other reason than that it will allow you to enjoy more days of boating than would a smaller, newer alternative.
PS. The Jeanneaus are better looking than the small Beneteaus IMHO.

I had loads of trouble with my old P33. As tesified on here. Sinkings in Ireland and loads of other stuff. The bloody thing went all the way up to Scotland without missing a beat. Then some Tw*t came along and bought it. Mind, it never did have a working bilge pump../forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Now Dave that's the spirit!!!! stiff upper lip old man, and get the plastic out, What!!!!

I truly do know how you feel, and it does Piss you off, when for every one day out trouble free, you get 3 bad ones to spoil it!!!

Only you can decide, I guess you will sell, as you are now not happy with the boat, same as me, then the next bugger that owns it, under sods law will get years of trouble free boating!!!!

Could you not retrofit any manufacturers pump, a pump is a pump. As long as it gives the correct head of water then it will work shirly!

I bet your average wagon scrappy will have something to fit.

Bloody cheque book sailors!

Hi Julian - the good news is ..........

......I'm not selling. Floated the idea passed my wife last night. "Absolutely not" came the reply. "Get it fixed and start doing some of the work yourself over the closed season". "Can't be doing with a smaller boat" was the next comment!

Well there ya have it. Her indoors ain't called SWMBO for no apparent reason :)

Just tell us who is the real boss here .... similar to gonefishing, I had a conversation when having lunch onboard last WE with my wife and daughter..... "I am glad you did not buy anything smaller, as I would have wanted to trade up pretty quick...." she said ....i did not know how to reply to that.... but will remember it and bring it up again at an appropriate moment of time...

Glad you're sticking with the Windy as they are marvelous boats ... dreaming of being able to afford one some day...
