I used to have 2 of these on boat. Unfortunately as you have seen the motor being right at the bottom makes it difficult to see the leak. One leaked and soaked the bilge. I ripped it out and fitted a Tecma and cleaned and disinfected. I then look it apart and could see that it’s a seal between the motor and pump section that leaks. I stripped off the other motor/ pump and used a new seal kit in case that one started leaking. It’s very easy, less than an hour start to finish. I’ll replace the other pan in time. My only issue with the Jabsco is it is difficult to see when they start leaking.

The leak is small (so far) and only when it is flushed. Because it is a wet room shower/toilet all leaks are safely contained in the shower tray. I have the kit (I hope it’s the right one….the O ring is so fine)

It’s part no 19 on the exploded diagram posted earlier. It’s a lip seal with an internal spring that is pushed into the pump body. About 20mm diameter with internal spring, it’s not an o ring

Be very careful to put the lip seal in the correct way around, or it will allow the motor to fill up with "stuff". Someone fitted the seal in one of my toilets the wrong way around, before i bought the boat.

I will reverse engineer the service…it’s lasted five years so I’m hoping it was originally installed correctly

I’m hoping it’s around the rubber seal (18)...at least in that general area. It’s a bit low to the ground in a tight heads to get a real good look...especially as I would need to be laying down while flushing....when I locate a rebuild kit, I will disassemble it and the true horror will be evident

My guess is it is 19. The most common failure point in my (many) quietflush repairs. If not caught very quickly goes on to destroy the motor and other things.

The very small spring loaded O ring that goes on the motor shaft was impossible to fit..but I thought I had it in enough…when I gather enough energy I will try again…perhaps take it to my workshop and press it on…
Any suggestions??? and please remember this is not the gag forum

So I bought a new seal..this one definitely matches the serial number although it looks identical to the one I fitted this morning.
But what is that other part ? It’s not in the original set up, nor is it in the parts diagram
I can only assume it is to fix a problem …but where would it go?

I can’t believe the price they are asking for a tiny seal. The seal is pushed in with finger pressure and then a drift if it’s tight. If it’s not fitting easily then there is something in the body that is stopping it, glue perhaps. I can’t believe they would have different sizes on something like this. Can you measure the id of the casting and the od of the seal?

Ok…I’ve solved the mystery of the extra part..it’s for the standard electric toilet not the quiet flush model that I have
