I wish I had known that before swapping out, in so saying since removing the anti-siphon valve it has worked just fine. What you would do with a Nano if you needed that valve is what worries me. Potato masher?
Thats a cheap toilet. You could buy 6 of them for the cost of a baby blake, then add another £1800 for the electric conversion . £7700A Tecma is a thousand euros
It is expensive, but the Baby Blake also makes great espresso.Thats a cheap toilet. You could buy 6 of them for the cost of a baby blake, then add another £1800 for the electric conversion . £7700
And look at the range of seat colours you can choose from…!It is expensive, but the Baby Blake also makes great espresso.
doubt its espresso is better than my manual La Pavoni Europicolla onboardIt is expensive, but the Baby Blake also makes great espresso.
That is good to know. I was looking at a Nimbus recently where most have either manual of electric Jabsco’s. Replacing with a Tecma Nano may not be worth it then. Does anyone know if the small Planus (Match) is any better?Bruce, Tecma’s nano version (the one with the small bowl and designed to go on a plinth) is awful. It just doesn’t flush well. Although I think their mainstream unit is excellent and I just specced those for my new boat build, that nano version is always a very poor performer imho.
About 5 years ago, I fitted 3 of the standard size Planus toilets. As far as I know, they are very similar to Tecma. I understand that the guys at Planus designed the Tecma units. That is good to know. I was looking at a Nimbus recently where most have either manual of electric Jabsco’s. I tried contacting Planus sales vbefore buying the Tecma but they wrote back to say they couldnt help before even asking what I wanted. It seemed rather bizarre so I moved onThat is good to know. Hi Bouba,Ok mystery solved....back at my workshop on the bench with my magnifying desk light...I could see that a bit of the original seal was still in there...after removing it with a tiny screwdriver...the new (second new) seal fit right in...i will go back and refit as soon as I have the energy (possibly tomorrow)
Only hope that I haven’t damaged the back of the centrifugal impeller trying to force it on
My advice to everyone in boat land...what the eyes can’t see, the hands can’t fix
Hi John...it was something that I agonized over for ages....but yes, I’m pretty sure that is what I did...put it in so you can see the springs...I used the same diagram as you have used...but looked for the highest definition one I could find...till I convinced myself that I could see the springs in the drawing. If I wake up in the night with a sudden realisation that I am remembering it wrong..I will let you knowHi Bouba,
I have a small leak on one of my Quiet Flush Electric Toilets, also from the shaft seal, the seal fitted (19) to mine has the flat side of the seal installed towards the motor side of the housing, with the spring side seen once inserted - is that the correct way round that you fitted yours? I ask because I am doing the job tomorrow....!View attachment 168526
It’s actually an easy job...make sure all of the old seal is out (it’s made of metal)...that’s where I went wrong ... I couldn’t see the metal remnants of the old seal still in place...until I used a magnifying glass...as long as you have a little space to work and better eyesight than me it’s a very quick jobThanks for the prompt response.
It's the guest toilet, we don't have anyone out this visit so I thought it might be a good time to strip it down and fit new seals. One of those lovely winter jobs...!
Strange indeed. The Planus Match is a bit bigger than the Tecma Nano.I tried contacting Planus sales vbefore buying the Tecma but they wrote back to say they couldnt help before even asking what I wanted. It seemed rather bizarre so I moved on
