Timings for sailing round the IOW on Friday?

I think HW is around 0700. So set off from the Hamble around then and keep going?

Looks about right assuming you are going anticlockwise. HW Portsmouth is 07:09BST so you will have west-going tide until about 11:40BST by which time you should be somewhere near the Needles ready for six hours of east-going round the back.

Thanks for that. Just hope there'll be a bit of sun (forecasts seem to suggest it'll be cloudy).

It's neaps at the moment, tide well turn west off Cowes about an hour before high water so you could even set off a bit earlier.
