Now they're in place

You can watch them on the webcam but they don't move

However cranes appear and the tide goes in and out.

Re: They don\'t look so big

Perhaps the why is more acceptable as this is only the cherry on a substantial coastal erosion protection scheme Paid for by our taxes as usual although MP Dennis and Council leader John would no doubt like to be seen as being responsible for its provision

The beach was carried away so they got a load of sand (300,000 cubic metres) from off Lincolnshire to replace it and built a carefully designed breakwater to stop it from being lost again. Unfortunately there is lots of coal up here so the northern end of the beach is a bit dark coloured (black).

1. it's art, I think it looks fab

2. Does it matter

If we left all spending to members of this forum the UK would just be built of concrete blocks /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Except of course the houses of the forum members, which would be decorated in gold. Strange how you can see this in the houses of tyrants, despots and well, grumpy old men.

Exactly mr Land. Lets turn all the natural harbours into marinas. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Can't think of anything worse.

The Newbiggin breakwater will provide improved temporary shelter for shallow draft yachts at no cost to us.
