I’d also heartily recommend “Kebabish” in Douglas. We ordered three medium doner and the guy turned up with two carrier bags. It seems instead of pittas they use 12” pizza bases and each is filled with what seemed like half a sheep. It was par for the course on IoM as the previous day we had the “Moby” size fish and chips; a whole cod in batter and sack of spuds per portionNext time you take a boat into Ayamonte, Spain, nip over the bridge and you will find the best kebab shop this side of the black stump.
Years ago my wife and I found ourselves held up in Morlaix for a week due to unusually bad autumnal weather.
It wasn't too bad. Plenty of places to eat and drink and a train station so we could spend our days travelling around inland.
Unlike the time we found ourselves storm-bound in L'Aber Wrac'h. When we crept upstream to Paluden to find some shelter. What few delights Paluden has to offer in torrential downpours soon begin to pall.
