Hi all I have a Sony ICF-SW7600G radio the problem I have is it will not work with battery’s but it’s ok when used with the DC transformer. I have had a friend of mine look at it (he works with electronics) he has found a transistor that’s gone down because the part dose not have any type markings on he phoned Sony who refused any help and was told to take it to a Sony centre The cost of repair would be at least £40 (I am led to believe that none of the components are marked) Dose any one out there know where I can find a circuit diagram for the above radio as I could buy a new radio for a few more pounds all be it a different make and a transistor would cost only a few pence. I would like to say I have nothing against Sony. Thanks for any help.

Ask your mate to review the diagram.....The battery power supply doses not appear to travel through any solid state devices.

It may be worth checking the power socket and making sure the switch connector restores battery power when the power plug is withdrawn!
