What do you think of this little beaut?
Will be used on my sailing dinghy eventually to power nav LEDs and echo sounder (will be strapped down in a sealed box even though I have not capsized for many years). I intend to do some exploring and night, sailing for adventure you see.
ALSO I need power for my Gadget Show stand that I won. I cannot BELIEVE someone won a stand for a piece of neoprene in the shape of an octopus that goes over bath taps to protect toddlers in bath. We just stuck an inflatable armband around the taps many years ago. But then those guys seem to be selling them (link at bottom - takes ages to load though), whilst my much more useful invention has not been seen by anyone yet _ hence the launch and search for a business partner.
Someone said to expect to spend a fair bit on the stand.
I have done it for under £200 easily.
This will give me power for my inventions on show. It is in my risk assessment (the amount of forms are great).
The NEC would charge £100 per light otherwise (I get 4 free luckily and the walls are clad in mdf already).
They would charge for 12V power or 240V. They would charge to unload car (but I have a plan).
They charge for storage (I have a big trunk).
I have made my own flatpack tables that fit in boot of car and will be left at show.
Biggest cost was insurance; just under £100.
Vista print cards were £7ish
Battery will give me 70% of 12 Amps in an hour (but won't need that much).
I have attached various inputs and outputs to drive things etc.
Really pleased with it.
I am carefully giving it a full saturation charge now. These mat batteries don't like large loads and like to be charged with a small current at a constant 14.1V etc
Won't be on show to the public (I am known for my function over form attitude _ in fact I had to shell out £20 for 3-D prototype printing because everyone said the prototypes I had turned on the lathe let the product down) but it doesn't look that messy does it?View attachment 40921View attachment 40922View attachment 40923
