Simple outhaul tensioner

No friction at all from the crossing lines. Blocks are at right angles to each other in use. That's how you reeve two double blocks.
I see it now. I thought the clew rotated the other way. I can see now that a 6:1 must be rigged at 90 degrees, but a 4:1 can be rigged two different ways, depending on whether you want 90 degrees or 0 degrees (more common, but not right for this application). Odd that Harken does not show that one.

A cascade purchase inside the boom would likely be the neatest solution. But that means taking the boom end off and refitting it.

Especially if there's not much space between the clue and boom end. I'm considering this option.
