Selling a bost

Dear All

I want to put my 21' sailing boat up for sale but not being marina based there is not a handy broker to charge me 6 to 10% for the pleasure. Has anyone sold through a web based broker? Would anyone recommend one? What is the usual cost (%)? The boat is on the East Coast - Brightlingsea.

www.ebay.co.uk may be worth a try, they have several boats advertised under automotive/other vehicles (for some reason!)

There are quite a few internet sites who accept a listing for a pretty small fee (including this one!!) I sold my 23' boat that way last year - took about 6 months but was satisfactory all round. Interestingly, contrary to popular wisdom, I got far more interest in August/September than when I first advertised her in March!

I can't remember all the sites now but if you do a search on yachts for sale loads come up and you can then add your boat to them.

Have you looked at www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk ? Free adverts. For a good coverage of a boat see www.easternyachts.com. Costs money but gives a good impression. They are also physically in your area.

I've been looking for a boat and these were the ones I was most impressed by.
