Sailing TV?

That's me buggered then

Thanks for that. But why is it not available on the quicktime server?
Why would someone launch a technically challenging website knowing that most users would need an update and not be sure it was available?

Looks odd ! Maybe the IT person at yachtingTV is working on the insanity side of the fine line ? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

For me the link at the bottom of the home page works fine. Does anyone else have a problem? It would surely be the wrong side of insanity to launch a brand new internet magazine using yesterday's technology.

You miss my point.
By all mean use the newest availble software. But make sure it is available.
Not wishing to dis the Finnish language, I couldn't make head nor tail of the Quicktime link Helina posted.
The pic I posted of the Quicktime error window was what came up when I tried to view the site. If I cliked OK on the window it closed the site. There is a Quicktime link on that page, but I couldn't use it whilst the window was open. Catch 22.
By visiting Quicktime sepreately I have downloaded Quicktime 7.3 and now the TV channel works fine.
My point is that web developeres often miss out on these hiccups. They have the software loaded themselves and don't test on older machines so they don't probably realise that there is a problem. It used to be the same before Firefox as most web developers didn't consider Navigator users at all.

Minimum requirements :
Järjestelmävaatimukset:
• 233 MHz Intel Pentium -luokan prosessori tai nopeampi
• 128 Mt muistia
• Windows 2000 tai XP
I think that it's everywhere the problem that the developement and demands from the system is so fast that one is allways a bit in problems if the PC is not updated every three years.

That sounds interesting. I'll have a look. Quicktime doesn't seem to bad. Just don't let it set file associations.
Realplayer is a real balls-ache though. I use Media Player Classic which is by Real Alternative and will play Real video.

Ah, thanks, I avoid quicktime and real player if possible, had too many problems with them clogging machines

My computer says the playlist format is not recognised. Pretty hopeless these people aren't they, what they need is a 12 yo to do the complicated parts for them

Am I the only one with a bog standard off the shelf computer running the older version of IE and having no fancy do dahs or updates that the site worked perfectly for? Pretty impressive sounding and looking stuff I think!
