Sailing Pilot Cutter Alpha pics

The Alpha was one of the last of the Bristol Channel sailing pilot cutter breed .Looks as if it is in good hands now

Alpha was based in Bowling basin for a cople of years. I remeber the crew fitting a new mast - they suspended the mast from the old (unused) railway bridge going over the Forth and Clyde canal and manoevered Alpha underneath to step mast....

...very interesting manoevre!

Saw two beauts down in the grenadines, one was a westerman type, (new) and the other an original, Margarethe I think. I'll have alook at the piccies.
Dont know how to put them on here!
