You'd certainly fail if you tried to pass that off as Latin.

Surely this problem goes away in two years time? It is, after all, an EU ruling.
Is Belgium leaving the EU? Will all red diesel suddenly turn white?
Seriously, I can't see what difference it makes if and when we leave the EU, Belgium can do as they like, as being demonstrated now.
Would they fine a boat for having marked diesel if the boat was non EU flagged, such as US or CI?
Did you ever receive a reply? If so, what was it? And has anyone had any feedback from any Belgian businesses who may be losing trade because of this?
I have been invited to take our boat to Holland next year to visit friends, but that's now looking unlikely to happen if they are boarding boats in transit. Goodness only knows how much they'd fine me for having approx 3,000 l of red in my tanks!!
This was the first thing that google brought up;

Boots the chemists use to do a laboratory testing service but we are going back a couple decades, there are some companies who specialise in testing diesel for quality and contaminants ( google search ) and there are kits available from Northern Ireland that test for doctored diesel, having said that the dye is only one part of it, there is a UV marker that you cant see and the article in post 392 would suggest that even after 7 or 8 tank fulls its still detectable ( in there case 38,000 litres of white ). You could try and find a lab local to yourself, i do wonder how much it would cost.
I am going to Ostend in August.
I am sure that some of you will have seen our HMRC doing roadside checks for UK road users using red diesel in their cars.
I have cleaned my tank (45 litre) & changed the filters at least twice. I have run approx 250 litres of white fuel through the system in 2 years. Much of it bought abroad, but a third bought at UK garages.
I live in Essex ( CM0 postcode) & if I could find out where the nearest HMRC headquarters was for the roadside checking was, I would like to take a pint of fuel along & cry on their shoulders & see if I could get a free check. Even if I had to cross someone's palm with silver.
Does anyone know where the nearest testing headquarters for these people that do the roadside checks may be please?
Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks
If you have a diesel heater you could leave that on the main tank. Then fit a smaller tank that you can swop over for the trip.
