radar?

What is a good - not to expensive - radar for my fairline 33 targa.
I only need a few times a year when i go on sea. (Norh Sea/Channel).
Do you think it's unsafe to on sea without a radar?

Try one of the JRC models, inexpensive and good reports.

Not unsafe I went from Brighton to Ramsgate in thick fog without one but wished to hell I'd had one at the time. First time in 1600nm I've had fog.

Left Dover inon a delivery trip in a Trader bound for emsworth two months later in thick fog with brilliant radar no contest

I am also looking to buy a JRC when I have some spare cash left over for a little toy. Have looked at various manufacturers, but JRC look to be good value for money. Also, as LJS says they get a good write up in the magazines.

I bought a JRC last year - really pleased with it. I bought mine via ebay (new) from the US and had it fitted on the boat. Including tax and despatch it still worked out about 30% cheaper than UK price. Worth a look?
