Clear perspex reminds me of this on one club cruise to Brightlingsea
We were all rafted up in 2 rows. We had gone on to the pontoon & were waiting to go ashore from the mid river pontoon via the ferry. The slow elderly couple, on one outer rafted boat, opposite me, was holding us up. "Are they there", came the call to me. I stood on my foredeck & looked in through their clear cabin hatch & replied," Yes". "Well WTF are they doing, they are keeping us all waiting"
I replied " I dunno, but he ain't half got a spotty bum"
It was wasted on them. Only one other person understood-- & he was an ex Round Tabler as well:rolleyes::unsure:

Catch 22

If you leave it unlocked your insurance is probably invalid. If you lock it your claim will be for whatever they stole - and maybe they will see the value and steal .... your Lewmar hatch) (and your premiums will increase)

We do lock up in some places because it would a right pain replacing things, even if nothing is of great financial value.

Sadly we left the world of affordable insurance behind when we left Europe. I don't think it's worth paying 10% of the cost of the boat every year in insurance. In Europe, it was 1%, which I was happy to pay.

I don't have photo of the vertical part - but that has 'window' in each half ... it folds.
