That analogy only makes sense if comparing a new V40 to a new Targa 40.

I’ll be going to a used V40 with a few hundred K off the price so not really apples to apples.

I haven’t been onboard a new Targa 40 but whilst it does have more deck space like you say(small bathing platform though) it does look smaller in the saloon/galley.
With small children on a boat floor space is important as is security.

Agreed. In a perfect world I’d go for a GT style sports cruiser with sliding “patio” doors. But at this size they seem to offer the worst of both worlds.

I do like the Fairline Targa 45 GT but it’s a million quid easily.

Side decks are important to me…sooner or later you are going to have to walk from front to back…and some side decks are like tightrope walking
