New deck coating

Has anyone got any details on this Newdek coating product? It's a totally non-slip and essentially maintence-free transparent polymer treatment for restoring old teak decks to brand spanking new - just pour it on and as it's self-levelling it gives a new deck in about an hour. Course, it would n't work if you had already ripped half the deck off already, but otherwise it sounds fantastic.

Yes - I 've heard of it - in fact there's one of those massive Moody Carbineers in Melfort just now and he had it done - its amazing and I really was convinced it was all a brand new teak laid deck. I remember it wasn't expensive either - did he say it was £125 for the whole boat?

I've heard of it too, but that its still in the development stage and the manufacturers are looking for south coast based yachts of 27-30' which they can do a free evaluation/test on.

AFAIK they are offering a full suit of sails, electronics package, antifouling, new gel coat, new rig and new upholstery along with the test.

"already ripped half the deck off" boats need not apply.

Do you remember the old guy used to come on here - Ken something... was he not looking to do something with his decks at one time - he used to call himself Bavken or JenKen or something like that - think he's off with Happy and Byron somewhere - shame really it probably would have been quite a good product for him....free electronics you say?
