The boat was launched this week. Incredibly pleased with it. There is still some boatbuilding work to do, and a bunch of sea trials, but it should be ready for end of March.

I was too busy on technical stuff/drinking wine/giving speeches to get many good pictures, but there was a pro photographer present so I will get better pictures from him later. Meantime here are pictures and a quick youtube of the launch and then some interior pictures. The first pics show it in the slings as we arrived (we arrived 11am rushing to make a launch scheduled for 11.30, saved only by strong tailwinds helping the plane get to Pisa :)

There was a DJ playing Messrs Pavarotti and Bocelli for the launch :)

Now a few interior pictures. First the salon. Really really pleased with this. Still needs interior finishes/details/edge lighting and there are two blue arm chairs to go at the forward end (they're to the left in the first pic, parked temporarily there), but it’s shaping up nicely (imho!)

It's all a bit rough and ready, but I guess you'll learn to make do 😳😍

I’m v pleased the look and function of the pilothouse. The bank of 22 inch screens will be a bit lower (~50mm), though you can still see the full windscreen when they are in this high position, even if it doesn’t seem that way from these pictures. The two cabinets in 3rd and 4th pics are starboard side of helmsman/woman. You’ll see I didn’t specify black leather in the pilothouse - I prefer this lighter colour. The screens are garmin’s new 9000 series.

This ventilated cabinet at port side aft of pilothouse will contian BartW’s amplifier for the disco system, and a laser printer. The shelves adjust or come out to make space and there is a bunch of wiring and 230v power behind the removeable back panels inside.

Below is fly. It started raining and they put covers on before I had the chance to get decent pics

Below is radar mast. Not finished obviously. From top there is anchor light (Lopo); NUC red light; steaming light;, Flir camera with IR and low light superimposed using two lenses - model M364C; back up radar 24inch radome (doppler); main radar 25kw 4 ft scanner also doppler; searchlight. Still to be fitted near the bottom are the lower NUC lights (Lopo) and kahlenberg horns painted black. Starlink receiver will go the starboard of the mast base, and there are 8 vertical antennae doing various things including 3 x VHF, 4 antenna sets inside 2 vertical tube casings to allow 4 sim cards worth of 5G/LTE, Wifi-as-WAN, etc. No sat domes because they are now extinct.

Finally the foredeck. My extra two capstans have fitted in well. These are for easy ground line hauling in the med, saving you the trouble of using the main anchor windlasses which involves de-clutching and a few minutes of faffing around)

That’s if for now. I’ll post a bit more later.

Absolutely stunning J! The light colour in the pilot house works really well. 👍🥰
Except when driving at night, some folks would say. But actually the pilothouse will be blacked out, screens dimmed, for the very rare night time drives when it's not warm enough to be at the upper helm. For the other 99.999% of the time I prefer it like this. I really dislike black leather pilothouses.

Absolutely lovely!
I can’t see that having a dark pilot house would make a jot of difference at night and the colour scheme looks great.

The boat is amazing of course but that pilot house (I know I’m going to be on my own here) looks a clutter. With all that lovely gear and with the San Lorenzo touch it should look just Wow! but sorry it doesn’t for me.
But we all have different tastes and that’s fine
I’ll shut up now and await execution.

I think the photo doesn't do it justice, but the gaps between the screens leaves me a tad surprised as (maybe I'm wrong) I believed there was an earlier mention of a complete dash, maybe it's not finished yet.

Each to their own and no executions needed :). The gaps and the “floating” screens concept are very much part of the design. As regards both looks and engineering, the screens form a faceted cone shape because they are tilted at an angle and mounted in a curve, so any surface you create to mount them in would look ugly (imho) and be incredibly difficult to mak unless constructed as a box. Plus it would create redundant surface area around the screen which affects the view out above the screens. I absolutely did not want a big box built to mount the screens in, as many (almost all) boats have.

The part below the screens looks a bit messy in that pic but is better in real life. Nevertheless you are always forced to deal with loads of different little screens and switch panels when building a boat. There are no Carling switches etc because of digital switching and the use of slicker switches, and that helps.

The first pic below is my lower dash for the flat part, just to illustrate that you have no choice but to fit a load of separate gadgets from several manufacturers. Sadly this is unavoidable.

The second pic is Princess Y95 dash, so a comparable boat superficially (leaving aside the quality/spec differences), and also with 5 screens. Perfectly ok, but it's a traditional philosophy of building a big box for the screens, wrapping it in leather, and fitting lots of carling switches. Probably preferred by plenty of people, and not by plenty of others (incl me!).

It does look as though the screens block the view out but I bet there is a load of AR (Augmented Reality) built into the electronics.

Incredible and what an amazing experience.

I love it and love the effort you have put in to make it yours rather than off-the-shelving.
