Certainly a step up from a 4kw, not as powerful as a Webasto 55 Air top but there are differences compared to most Chinese heaters.
All the Chinese heaters I've used will ramp up to the set temperature and then idle ( unless you have an Afterburner fitted) and then increase again when the temperature drops, and carry on in that fashion.
This one operates in two modes, "gear" and "smart" settings.
Gear operates the same as a 4kw set in hz mode, it operates at whatever speed you set it, this model has ten settings, a press of a button changes it to the smart setting.
Smart operates in the same way as Webasto's and Ebers. You set the temperature and it gets to it and then maintains it by varying its speed.
Saying that, the Hcalory is somewhat wayward in this in that it levels off about (on mine anyway) 5-6 degrees before it reaches the set temperature, not a problem in that you just set the temperature higher.
Initially I used the pump that came with the 4kw as they're supposed to be the same, the body temperature was a little disappointing, swapped it for the supplied one and on full power the body temperature reached a respectable 203 degrees. Whether the original was worn I don't know but there was certainly an improvement using the supplied one.
The Bluetooth connects easily and works well, it also comes with a remote.
Do I think it is worth getting one, a resounding yes from me.

Good stuff. That's really useful. Thanks. Bang for the bucks it seems a pretty handy piece of kit. Probably expecting a bit much to be on par with the Webasto but at 1/10th to 1/15th of the price, I think it can be forgiven. Not to mention spares prices on the Chinese ones are usually a fair degree cheaper too.
