Hi.

I recently purchased a Flare 25 og rocket flare as they sometimes are called.
This sailboat is produced with twin heel and actually sails quite nicely. The seller pretty much knew nothing at all about sailboats so I have no clue at all about the technical specifications such as total weigt of the vessel, total displacement, ballast weight and how deep the keel(s) reaches. Since the genoa is ripped and both the main and genoa appear to be about 10 years old or more I really need to purchase new ones. If someone has a manual for this boat or a PDF I would really be gratefull. I havnt gotten to measuring the sails yet and since this North Wales produced vessel is quite rare there are no specs on file with any of the affordable sailmakers. I belive the model I have is a 1988 even though the seller mentioned its a 1983. The fiberglass mold is in excellent shape with no leaks but there still is a lot of work getting it in perfect shape again also this ship has no interior at all right now so I would have to start from scratch. As far as I know this type of boat normally has a bare spartan design but I have seen some pictures of upgrades for basic comfort which I intend to build and install this summer. Back to what the needs here are besides the manual is if anyone has used sails which fit here. If they are old and worn its not a problem as long as they are not riped or damaged. My budget wont allow me the satisfacton of ordering a brand new set. Also if anyone else has a simmilar ship any photos and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Regards Richard

Here is a similar boat (link) since I dont have permission to post attachments on this forum:

If you contact a local sailmaker they will either give you a list of measurements to take, or visit your boat and measure up and build sails based on that.

I already contacted Boatshed sailmakers which seem to be one of the more expenstive choices. For new sails I would rather order from far east sails and save aloi. Unfortunately my budget this year wont allow for a brand new set so I was hoping someone had som older ones to sell me for now. Also I really need som specs on this vessel since google doesnt supply anything. Displacement, ballast and so forth is needed and a manual would be great.
