Have not been to Billing, normally go to the LRO summer show at Peterborough, but was thinking of trying Billing this year.

My brother is looking for a set of alloys for his Classic Range Rover and looking for a bargin at Driffield.

Thats the reason i went to a couple of shows for some classic alloys, they are getting rare!

Its a big show billing but it time consuming picking the real good finds from the carefully placed overpriced unwanted items.

Yes, he wants the SPORT alloys as put on the last classics as his current 3 spokes are leaking air, its a 1991 Vogue. They are V V expensise so looking at Rhino (copy of the sport) or possibly Freestyle with a nice set of BFG All Terains.

The Freestyles look good, ive looked about and there is a lack of wheels to fit the classic range rover, in the end i had the 3 spoke alloys refurbished came out very well, its a never ending circle on these, but worth every penny!

mine had the webasto full sunroof but had problems even after spending a few hundred getting it fixed the plastic pulleys were always out of whack so in the end i put a new roof on with sun roof, it was a shame but the parts went to a fanatic who needed them to fix his webasto!

recently had a new engine for mine looked at upgrading to a 4.0 or 4.6 but being 3.5 would have meant changing air meter for the mass rather than volume type etc etc so i didnt bother, have had new rear tailgate interior parts and pleased to say its just how i want it not concourse but nice and its a fairly rare manual.

Its the trim i find difficult to find in good condition and now some parts are only built at certain times of the year which means an annoying wait, i waited 3 months for a side door 'bin' and trying to locate a decent set of rear light covers the orginal 5 fin seems impossible!

at Billing had some great old 2 1/4 for sale really top notch, could have walked away with a few new toys, im still looking for a nice Defender 90 county V8 thats my next aim.

The V8's are lovely cars and I run a V8 Discovery, luckily not everyday becuase as I am sure you know they just drink petrol, i get about 250 miles to the tank. Just put a full roof rack on and it even worst know.

I sold my TD5 Defender at the begining of the year and really miss it, would love to get myself another but will have to wait. Would like a 300Tdi with BFG Mud tyres for GreenLanes.

Take the Discovery but it is just a bit powerful, the power is either on or off.

Yer they are abit thirsty i get about the same as you from mine around 250 miles. I have put on an uprated ecu due to problems with the old one which helps fuel economy but cant say i have noticed! trouble is with these is once hooked they are impossible to leave!

i prefer the sound from the older carb V8's rather than fuel injected but under stress ive been told its about 6 to the gallon so thats a no no for a start!

have fun at the show weather is supposed to be good
