Fender socks, coiling rope, mechanical watch, the angle you wear your Tilley hat....these are all essentials in being a good sailor....we cannot accept behavior below these standards
Leaving your dinghy on a long painter. The mark of a true seaman. I get in grumpy mode more and more over some of the selfish twits I come across here. (Other spellings of twits available…)

However to lighten the mood. It’s happy hour as I write this from Lagoonies Bar Sint Maarten.

Rum punch at $2 US. 29 C. Man smoking some evil smelling ganga in the corner and I’ve just fixed (at least temporarily) our boat.

I read posts by others of raging weather and all that it brings. Here I walked down the lane to the junction to post a letter. The land is green and beautiful, there is a stiff breeze but it's warm in the bright sunshine in sheltered places.

The Daffodils are well advanced on the road verges, the old stone wall warms in the sun and I think prompts the local Daffs to wake up early.

Very much so. As is everything to do with sailing safety. It's been the same in every job I've ever had, training to make operations on difficult platforms are carried out safely and efficiently. No ‘9 V

:giggle: Not the Doctor, but a regular sight is the man who does private garden jobs at some of the big local houses. He's got a green ex GPO Telephones Moggie 1000 van
