I'd rather deal with a wet oar & hot oily outboard that 2 wet & muddy dogs.

Added to the fish smell I doubt it makes much difference!

When oi were a'workin on t'boats t'were point of honour to stand up in any boat, the more precarious the better!

Now I don't, I tend to sit down and to use the kill-cord...


P.S. I have rarely seen boats in tenders.

In my experience it seems to be the 'older' sailor who stands in his dinghy. I suspect they find it too difficult to get up and down from the thwart.

My old inflatable could be steered to a surprising degree just by leaning. Not tried on the newer one.

same with my 10' rigid tender. In very heavy weather I have crouched in the centre and steered with my weight to avoid getting pooped, but can't reach the throttle, so have to get it right until I get to shelter.
