Nominet are great when it comes to missing the renewal date of a .uk domain. Not only do you get a months grace but you can get it back for a considerable period afterwards (cannot remember exact details but certainly many months)

You say it was an expensive mistake Dylan, renewal should not cost you any more if you are just a few days late - best take it up with your domain company.

Hope you had a good time in Wick. I was there about five days before you (Sat 7th) and was very impressed with the new pontoons and facilities. Very helpful harbourmaster who assured us that there would be no problems in entering the harbour despite dire warnings in the pilot book about dangerous seas in strong easterly winds. He came down to take our lines, and it turned out that he was the lifeboat mechanic. When he heard that we were heading for Orkney, he phoned the coxswain who gave us spot on advice about the tides and courses to take across the Pentland Firth, and the time to set off. We followed his advice, and the tide did indeed sweep us straight into Scapa Flow as intended. Brilliant service, and all with a smile!
