Im no expert on these things, but I'm under the impression that there's a gizmo called a governor somewhere in there, which controls the revs. That's all that needs to be changed and it's a simple job for a diesel mechanic.

The label on it looks like it might have voltage taps on it somewhere. Normally 115v is two windings in parallel, 230v the windings in series.

This is the actual diagram of your generator from the makers website so you'll find the colour coding correct (hopefully) >>

Remove parallel links from 1>3 and 2>4 then link pins 2 & 3 and take your 230v from 1 & 4.

Yes they can be ... its to do with windings / tap points

I've had a Genny changed years ago ...

But it may be that costs are not so attractive today ... if I was to look at it again - I would just buy a new genny.

Do a search online for the manual, for the generator. Or contact the makers / distributors on the label they'll know .

I note on the label it says V 57/115/230, which suggests there is a way of switching or changing links to choose the voltage you require..
Do a search online for the manual, for the generator.

It also says Amps 2. 09 / 1.04, which suggests it will give 2 amps at 115V or 1 Amp at 230V.

I wonder if the socket is American wired? Live to earth 115V, neutral to earth 115V,( different phase) , live to neutral 230V..
Wouldn't be the first genny I've found like that...

or you can buy a step up transformer as often used on building sites.

Check again, the current rating is 20.9A (at 115v?) and 10.4A (at 230v?). The power rating box says 2.4kVA which tallies. No need to buy anything, I've provided the link to the manual and relevant page with instructions in my post above.

Yep you're right, as you are with which links to connect / disconnect .

Thank you for your help, just need to understand that info?!
I guess there is a cover I need to remove and expose these ''pins/ terminals'' then it might make more sense.
Thanks again.
