Quite a few British builders have fitted Kubotas in recent years. Try Hunter Boats +44 (0)2380 452177

Beta engines are based on the basic Kubota unit, so anyone with a twin cylinder Beta might be able to help.

What sort of info are you looking for, general service info or complete engine strip down?
I have a Beta 13.5 which is based on the Kubota unit but the manual is quite basic.

Thanks for advice, is it possible that my engine has no oil fillter ? i haved searched for an internal one with no luck. the chap i bought the boat from informed me that he changed the oil often and there was no fillter to worry about.
The engine starts and runs well.
I will try and obtain info on betta engine to compare cheers.

Re. Oil filter
Your engine will certainly have one. On my 13.5 it is located under the alternator, on the port side (facing aft). It is recommended to change this and oil every 200 hours.

Filters are available from any Beta dealer.

Any more questions,please ask.

France, sailing Aegean Sea.
There was no external oil filter on my Kubota 12 HP. It had a cleanable internal device that looked something like a variable capacitor, with two sets of hemispherical meshing plates that could be rotated from outside the engine. Oil passed through these, collecting any debris, which was then removed by rotating the plates.
