Jim Davidson - Mitchie goes to town

Nice to see some proper boating areas as he made his way out of the Solent boating lake and into the Thames proper.
Cracking boat and thank god someone invented bow and stern thrusters. :)

Perhaps you should offer some tuition minus hobnails

No problem.
"Look behind you every now and then" be aware of movements of other traffic, monitor the radio, especially in commercial docks such as Dover or Ramsgate where busy working craft are in a hurry to get ashore and go home.
Faded celebrities might be top dog in their home marina but in any working dock you are just one other bit of traffic getting in the way. :)

I could not get on with that video it seemed to keep jumping to Ustream got confused…… Nice boat though

That is odd, because when played on youtube, rather than the link above, it shows 19 Jan 2022 which I checked before making the statement. Furthermore, I did not think Ustreme had been active quite that long. But time does fly when one is having fun
But I am happy to stand corrected

With you tube the only dates you can trust is if a person puts a date in text on the video or indeed says a date verbally in the video. When a video is filmed and when it is uploaded can be very different dates. Also I suspect Ustream is a bit like adverts that interject into the video. For example on my very small you tube channel modern adverts will interject on videos I made and uploaded years ago

I've just seen this one

Fantastic drone photography.
I wish I could do stuff like that.

He really is a great Princess fan and that vintage of Princess design is the best.
I love all his upgrades except one - touchscreen plotters.
I had to use a touchscreen plotter during a delivery about 18 months ago in an average rough sea.
I found myself swearing at it because I couldn't press the correct part of the screen whilst the boat was rocking and pitching.
It hadn't occurred to me until then, just how good my G Series plotter remotes are - I keep the remote in my lap and it moves with me when the boat moves around underneath.

That said, Princess Mitchie is beautiful and very special after her upgrades.
Back in 2017, we went to SIBS shopping for a second hand Princess 61 and came away with a new Princess 67 (same design profile though)
And I have never regretted it.

That pilot boat was a bit much. Presumably JD was to the starboard of it initially so it was the stand on boat….quite an aggressive display from the pilot thereafter. Anyone else see it differently?

Jim Davidson was not looking what he was doing. He veered to stbd as the pilot boat went past. There is an area of shallow water to stbd ( I have run aground on it in the past) so the pilot boat may not have had lots of room. One might expect that If Jim had seen him he would have taken a course very slightly to port. The pilot possibly gave it a burst of throttle to clear the ditherer.
