Jim Davidson - Mitchie goes to town

Very narrow channel at that location due to a sand bank not visible except at low water. Hence the Pilot boat keeeping well to port.

You gotta hope that the Pilot Boat knew the waters better than Jim..... He is the Pilot after all

Those pilot boats are probably the fastest thing out there in any conditions , after a few trips into Ramsgate you quickly learn to keep an eye out, no matter how away they are when you first spot them .

He's probably got more boaty content on Ustreme but to be honest nothing in there appeals personally even if the subscription cost were half. Would sooner subscribe to YouTube Premium and I'm not tempted much by that either.

Have to give him credit as a businessman, offsetting so much pleasure activity as a business expense and must be way cheaper than renting office space.

Yeah, time is money, things have changed a lot since I had to jump on the pilot boat to go out to a ship waiting for a repair, It was a converted creel boat with a flat deck forward level with the gunnels so we could stand on and catch the ladder on the side of a ship, can't find any pics of the old boat but the new one looks to be a little more capable

Last time going to UK and back from Ijmuden these were the pilot boats:
