We all - well, most of us - give a passing thought at this time of year to 'stuff' we think we should carry in case of 'events' on board. There are ads online and in the sailing mags about clever kit that we nod sagely to, then don't bother 'cos it's expensive, or bulky, or we just-can't-be-bothered ordering.

Here's a Youtube video which, although aimed at a slightly different demographic, contains a number of cheap-as-chips Good Ideas which may well justify your time spent watching it.

You'll perhaps hoist in some of these - and perhaps add a couple of your own here.

Another You Tube desk warrior giving advice..

Electrical Tape is for electrics..pack Gaffer/Gorilla Tape, stronger, sticks better, put a flame to it and burns as good tinder .

I'm almost glad you mentioned that.
Now I have to go 'n remove the Gaffer Tape I've used to hold my newly-minted boat 'lecky wires in the right places.
