'This month's hot boating topic....'

After getting a new boat telly …she also bought me a new telly for the house….so I am reliably informed that I’m getting nothing else 😳. But I have already dropped hints that I want need a drone 😃

Hope on a plane and have a holiday in Barbados?
Not too many yotties come here nowadays, but I am sure that you could find a few to have a beer with (including me).
Or, hop on a plane to Wadadliland (the Amerindian name for Antigua) and see if @geem will give you a crash course in kite surfing or wing foiling?
Actually, if it's Caribbean flavour I'm wanting, all I need to do is hop on a bus to nearby Croydon! 😎

There would certainly be plenty of crashing😆

Hoping for a sailing jacket!! (Re previous post 😀)!

Cutless bearing installed would be nice, roller furler or à new fridge!

As in a parallel thread where some folk are trying to pass along their lovely old boats, I have found it is the same with all these venerable old pond yachts.

Swimbo v accommodating . The last one I went to buy -sorry ‘save’- from a surviving niece, I came away with a handful of others too and they’re all so big. And often but not always exquisitely made, with whole sail wardrobes and miniature self steering gear..But the pleasure is there every time I walk past one ( or pop into the attic ).

No more prezzies!
I have enough timber and tools to fettle the projects for a year or two yet.

But: Nautical inspiration anyone?👍

I was reading about a pine nut aperitif drunk in French cafes, been around since the 1930s.
I wondered if anyone has perhaps tried it?

I decided to treat myself to a boaty present this year. Decathlon Tribord 900 sailing jacket with £92 off. Gets excellent reviews.
I’ve got the tribord top of the line (probably the 900) sallys and jacket. They are excellent, very very happy with it. Decathlon also have a no quibble returns policy for the first 2 years. Hard to beat.

Whats wrong with an expresso pot on the stovetop? As used by millions of europeans :)
The coffee tastes bad, it’s unstable, needs a lot of cleanup, the big ones make too much and the small ones don’t fit on the stove. All kinds of reasons this is better.

At 76 years of age there is not much that falls within the " affordable" range that could be regarded as a sensible purchase, in the past it's been tools but I really have no need for anything at the moment. I detest surprises and my wife knows it so in order that my wife is not shamed at the family Christmas gathering I will be getting an envelope with a blank cheque in it which I will give back to her on the understanding that at some time in the near future if something takes my fancy she will either contribute to it or buy it or not, it's all the same to me.
For her it's the usual lingerie and as a surprise a Stetson hat to stop her wearing mine.

Well, I’m not getting a drone😢. But she did buy me a Karcher jet washer….so now I’ll be able to shoot drones out of the sky

My wife decided my selective hearing needed attention. Looking forward to a hearing aid to reduce my tinnitus and being able to hear conversations better. Collecting on Tuesday afternoon. Now my only option will be to turn them off to justify my selective hearing. 😉😉😉

A few years ago after much Haranguing my wife forced me to go to and audiologist insisting that my "defective " hearing could be cured by an hearing aid of some description. She even accompanied me into the consultation on the grounds that I would not honestly describe my symptoms if left alone, the look of disappointment on her face when the chap announced that nothing could be done and no hearing aid would make a difference was worth every bit of inconvenience in going.
I have suffered from tinnitus for decades and as far as I am aware no hearing aid will reduce it or mask it.

Whilst being tested, I found the tinnitus was reduced with the test hear aids and the audiologist confirmed this can happen. It did not stop the tinnitus but reduced it by about half, and continued for about an hour after removing the hearing aids. Try booking another appointment to test your hearing, you may be surprised. The only bit that I did not like was the cost of the top of the range hearing aids, but hey ho SWMBO is paying!
