Anyone know if you can land in Ireland with all that is going on due to Covid - I am hearing rumours it is not possible.

Cheers

You will have to isolate for 14 days if coming from mainland UK but not from "Norn Ireland"

Edit: I have also heard that they are not accepting foreign boats at all but I haven't seen any confirmation of that yet.

My understanding is that you can enter harbour but must not go ashore unless you are prepared to go straight in to quarantine?

They don't even want foreign boats in their inshore waters in case we infect their lifeboat crews (told to me by Howth and Dunlaoghaire marinas when I enquired recently)

Totally over the top reaction IMO

I guess that besides lifeboat crew, there are only so many Coastguard aircrew that must operate safely in rotation............if crew(s) must be stood down due to Covid then there are obvious implications for those who are afloat for reasons other than pleasure sailing.

The Irish government is a bit of an outlier currently across Europe on its approach to inbound tourism.
The relevant section is available here :

coronavirus - Department of Foreign Affairs

Especially
"
What to do on entering Ireland from abroad:
The Irish Authorities advise anyone coming into Ireland, apart from Northern Ireland and individuals arriving in Ireland from locations with a security rating of ‘normal precautions’ (“green”), to restrict their movements for 14 days, and this includes citizens and residents returning to Ireland. "

We are effectively closed, unfortunately, to those wishing to visit that are not on the current "green list".

Bob.
