How do you make tea

Sorry, did not make myself clear

The gadget you describe is the thing that I mean; what I meant by a syphon was the tube going to the bottom like the old "soda syphons" used to have, so that liquid is forced out of the spout by air pressure at the top.

Re: Sorry....

Syphons have gotten me in the bad books of the bog lady at the moment! However you have now reminded my of another misuse of the word "syphon". Those old soda "Syphons" didn't use the syphon principle at all, the were just pressurised vessels.

I've got an old mug that has not been washed in ages. In cases of real emergencies I can make a reasonable cup of tea by just adding boiling water to the otherwise empty mug. /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

Still, tea's for girlies.. a real rufty-tufty chews coffee.... if it's drinkable, it's got too much water.

You're right Julie.....
Pam has to take helm, as otherwise a spell below and the smell of tea will enforce an emptying of her personal holding tank!!!

We have the same issue on our boat. There is a theory though ( which I agree with) that you can desensitise the vestibular mechanism in the middle ear by gradual exposure to the movement down below. This is certainly proven by the fact that my nicer half gets more tolerant of being down below as the season goes on. Tea making forays are probably of ideal length to start the process. I'm not joking either.
