Thanks very much for all the suggestions. I didn't even get a reply from some companies and others were either very expensive for limited cover or wouldn't offer cover at all.

Steve Wickens (post #3, longjohnsilver) was very helpful and replied promptly to requests for clarification. Cover looks reasonable when unoccupied with fewer restrictions than some other companies. My existing cover will be cancelled by L&G (bumped to higher level but still refused any cover at all for long absence) and I'm calling Steve fairly soon to sort out payment.

Thanks beebok, I'll keep a note of your suggestion in case I have problems next year.
