You need to give a bit more information such as what engine is it what gearbox etc.

Am I correct in thinking you have A blockage preventing water passing through your gearbox oil cooler.??

On some types broken bits of rubber from a damaged pump impellor can block the tubes in the oil cooler. You need to dismantle it take off the end caps and carefully remove any rubbish in there.

Have a good look at the condition of your gearbox cooler as if it fails the gearbox oil will be lost and wreck the gearbox very quickly.

If you give a bit more information hopefully someone with a lot more knowledge than me can offer you advise.

The engine is Volvo MD2B,sorry I forgot to mention.

In this engine the sea water are going to the gear box for colling

then they will out to the water pump which taked the water to the engine,

As the gear is blocked ,no water is gettin to the pump and the engine,

This is some type of sea water pumpes in the the gear box which are blocked

Is this a sail-drive ? (Like a big outboard engine - not the traditional shaft going through the hull)

The way you describe it it seems to be a sail drive where the water seems to come from the gearbox area - then to the pump then on to the engine ?

Start with the simple - is the sea-cock closed ?

When was the engine last used ? Are the intakes on the sail drive clogged with weed etc. ?
