I didn't get to talk to Z Z Top. Who was he ?

Yeah I wondered that as well! And I didn't get a chance to talk to Pauline either!

We took quite a few pics so will hopefully get them off the camera and posted later.

I'd like to add another big thanks to Brendan and the terrific staff at Mercury - the family all agree it was one of the most enjoyable weekends out on the water we have ever had.

I took my camera, then didn't take a single pic once I started socialising. Straker has promised a bit earlier to upload some, and there were quite a few cameras in evidence throughout the evening.

Especially the ones where all the men had womens frillies on, and the women were all topless. Not for public consumption, but highly entertaining for those there! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

So not one single photo of the whole evening..........?

errm, forgot to take the camera.

I think "lenseman" has some shots. Current rates are £5 NOT to post each one.

Brendan, you are never wrong! It was a mate of mine - JP is his name and he owns a lovely Shearwater. He's always being called ZZ Top but accepts it as the norm!

Great night Brendan and thanks to all the Staff as well. Also a big thanks to all the forumites who made the effort to turn up! Shame on you buggers who wimped out.

P.S. Couldn't believe how demure PaulineB was - I was expecting ................something a bit more risque!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Pauline suprises everyone. She is lovely on the forums, and even more in real life. The meet was wonderful, and just a shame that a few hours are not good enough to talk to everyone you would like to.

Like a fishwife or the like ?

Sorry, but I had a table full of drunken guests to worry about /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif ...... besides the fact that I really am a softly spoken, although forthright, woman.

A super night. Many thanks Brendan.

It was the first time in a year that we had been anywhere in our boat and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

I was lucky enough, by writing out the labels, to meet most of you briefly.

It was good to meet you Pauline - I am sorry that we did not have more time to talk although we did get a hug and a kiss!!

Mr B was a pet. Did he really have a sack, crack and back once upon a time? Its amazing what people you have just met tell you.

Thanks to Capt Pugwash and all on our table.

My husband was engrossed in conversation with John for the whole evening - what an interesting man.

Who is going to be brave enough to arrange the next one? Put my name down for a start.

Thanks May for doing the labels. It was supposed to be a shift system, that never happened. It did give you Dick and myself the chance to meet just about everyone there though!!

So, same time same place next year?

Absolutely, but just one tiny, small thing - the volume of chatter was so great throughout dinner (a good thing, I guess) in our little room that I struggled to hear what was being said on the table.

We definitely need a 100 plus people for the next meet so we can move up to a marquee

Make sure the little lad who was break dancing in the disco gets an invite as well - he was soooooooo cool.
