I want to get a dedicated aerial for my am fm radio. Does anyone have any suggestions please?
Thanks

With not wanting yet another deck gland wiring and external antennae. I went for a flexible antenna designed to stick on for my Fusion radio (although I haven't suck it down it just sits behind the panelling). It is inside the boat and seems to work quite well, probably not so well as an external antenna would but I've no complaints about reception.

Try connecting the centre conductor to a pushpit / pulpit bolt inside, I find that often works very well. If you want an external antenna then Shakespear are very good indeed.

I bought one of those small amplified car windscreen aerials for my Fusion. Works very well. Like a small black matchbox with an 8" antenna sticking out each side. Just fixed in place with double sided tape.

Is it ok on AM too please

I've just fitted a Fusion RA70N in my GRP boat, easy setup and connections, Bluetooth and NMEA all good so I can use it from the Raymarine e-series chart plotter, FM all good..... HOWEVER, I just can't get any reception on the AM? FM is fine, AM is just white noise.

The aerial is at the top of the mast, it's used for AIS, VHF etc, and I've connected it to the radio using the cable coming out of a Raymarine AIS100 splitter, which says 'FM Split output', so I guess that's why I get the FM ok.

How can I get AM on this setup as well as FM?
