This is not the place for it.

Since many of the pertinent individuals are involved in or have been involved in legal battles debating it here is not going to accomplish anything.

Moreover, this useless debate has hijacked the board and completely obfuscated all other discussions.

We do not have any interest in this subject and ask that ALL refrain from discussing any aspect of it here.

I permanantly deleted every post of every thread that touched on the subject. I will continue to do so until this debate fades away or moves to another forum. This is not the first time we have had to step in and throw some water on this fire, but I hope it is the last. There are plenty of other bulletin boards out there. You are also welcome to create your own. But please keep this discussion off of our board.

I know who is who and know the IP addresses you all post from. There were quite a few cases of multiple personalities in those threads, a clear violation of our rules. The threads were also full of personal attacks, also against our rules.

We have stated time and time again that we try to show the utmost restraint in moderating this board. However this situation had gotten way out of hand.

Please respect our decision and move on.

The previous post was meant for somewhere else ... Never mind it's even better posted here as its more pertinent here than there.

i never knew women's life jackets was such a loaded topic.

Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'you're making a scene'.

Stir Crazy

I put this outbreak of intraforum nastosity (here, and there, and probably way over there as well) to the impending deprivation anticipated by Northern Hemispheroids at this time of year.

What do we have to look forward to? 6 months of doomy gloomy weather, strong winds, yard bills, anti-fouling price increases, Christmas en famille, dehumidifiers and propellor polishing.

No wonder some crack, and decide to kick the organic fertiliser out of fellow forumees.

All we can do is pray to St. Kim that he allows us some rope, but insufficient to hang ourselves.

Re: oh lets not all agree eh??

I think in the wee hours the boards get all het up and abuse each other which get Kimmerised before we get to log on

i am a sporadic visitor at the mo so cannot track everything down each thread.

however in the interests of satying current with the trends and being rude to one nand all
i fart in your general direction and believe your boat to vastly inferior to my preferred type ( whatever your make assume i prefer the opposite)

on a more serious note does anyone have any good cold remedies
i have tried
beechams powders (one sent me to sleep)
bloody marys with loads of sauce and tobasco ( also sent me to sleep after 8)
Guinness (same as above)
Hot toddies excellent for 12 hours altho work colleagues became disturbed by my constant winking at them and my erratic telephone manner which consisted of Wassssup each time the phone rang

i sound like i have TB
and my hands ache for some strange reason ( i think a week in the wet has caused the hand ache the cold was a genreal infection aboard.

all remedies gratefully received

The name says it all - Sailbad.

That's not a cold, mate, you've got a dose of sailbad, otherwise known as boat rot or sailing allergy.

This can be cured easily by taking a coach to Nuneaton and never going within 20 miles of the coast ever again (except in a jetliner).

Take a mug - put 2 beechams powders in it then a good three teaspoonsful of honey. Top it up to half full with boiling water and stir until honey melted. Top up to full with whiskey. Never fails - you sleep like a baby and wake up ready for anything.

Sailbad

I was also out the weekend when summer changed to winter - holed up in Cherbourg Tuesday and returned early hours Thursday. Bloody cold it was too in NE head wind.

Now suffering from aches & cold. Reckon since I was down channel it must have been your Challenge bugs travelling on the tide. Have ordered ingedients for toddy as described and will forward the bill.

Explanation

A heated exchange developed on the Cruising World forum about the owner of the Nor'Sea boat building company who apparently took customers monies and didn't fufil a number of contracts. The heated exchange on CWBB devolved into personal attacks and abuse such that the CW Webmaster pulled all the threads.

I just thought it a coincidence that 2 Webmasters should be obliged to post such similar posts within 24 hours.

Cold remedy

Ex one of the Doctor books by Richard Gordon: take a bottle of whisky and a hat to bed. Put the hat on the bedpost. Get into bed and drink the whisky until the hat moves.

Wouldn't work at sea though.
