I have a couple for sale - both compressor-driven, top-opening fridge/freezers. One is a 25 lit portable, the other a 36 lit permanent installation type. Both are brand new, never used. PM me if interested.

Hi Duncan, I've actually got one and it works fine. Milk, butter, bacon etc. Not too big but does for a couple of days. I cool it down the night before on 240, plug it into the car enroute and plug it into cigarette lighter on the boat. Our tech on here also has one in his cabin to keep his beer cool. I'll see if I can get him to check the current draw. I think around 1.5 amps. I had no problems using it for 4 dats last time home. Didn't flatten the batteries.

thanks H00 - I have a cool box one on the boat; and it does cool well but can't compare to a compressor.
I also have a single v large (210 amp/h battery that only seems to have 12.3 V when the alternator has ceased running for an hour (14.0 V reading when underway). The fridge cuts out at this voltage - good thing of course. Battery has always been this voltage reading from new and never seems to have a problem starting engine even in January/Feb.
Fridge was the last item left over from the submarine activity in 2001 ie not done - can't justify 450 for a tiny unit to replace the expired unit)
