If it has long hair then you need to be careful. We had one that got badly infected and became gangrenous. Keep it well trimmed and look out for infection or maggots etc. try the vet

All sorted now. 30 mins with a sharp pair of scissors did the trick. The little thing just laid quite happily upside down in my arm whilst I carefully trimmed the offending 'klingons'. Don't think this will go down as one of my most memorable experiences.

Bugs au vin sounds tempting, especially as we have a brace /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Be careful if you are bathing him that you get his bum dry afterwards - if he(?) gets damp then it becomes quite a breeding ground for infection. We had one who seemed to be too fat to get round to clean himself and that took a bit of sorting out!
