I've just about finished antifouling my boat.
The skin fittings were badly fouled with limpets, growing up the inside the pipe, distance for about 5 cm.
I've scrapped out the limpets, and tried to sand the inside of the skin fitting with some rolled up sand paper, but it doesn't look that great.
What's the best way to apply antifouling paint to the inside of the skin fitting?
I'm using International micron 350, and the data sheet says don't apply to mixed metals. The skin fittings are bronze.
Is it safe to just stuff some antifouling paint up the inside of the skin fittings?
What do others do?

I paint as far as a smal 1/2” brush will teach. I have scuppers that are build into the hull and exit at the waterline, hence antifoul inside. The scuppers are GRP. The bronze skin fittings I do the same. I have been doing this for over 15 years on the same boat.

Rather you than me, I sail NW Scotland between 57 and 60 degrees North. There's no way I'm going into the water! It's far too cold!
It just reconfirms why its called the Lucky Country, as long as you also like sharks.

Water temps are around 23 degrees, that's C :) but cooling off (as winter is coming).

Temperatures are relative, as you get to more advanced years 23 deg feels like 18 when you were younger :(

Its not just sharks we had a hippo in the marina last year.

I have dived with sharks but only raggy tooth that look fearsome but only eat fish.

Being in the sun tropics even in winter the water is still warm when using a wet suit.

I had never heard that term used. More antipodeans might need to join YBW if they can be bothered and are willing to expand their horizons. (-;

From an AI interrogation of the internet:-

"The Lucky Country" refers to Australia, a nickname popularized by the 1964 book of the same name by Donald Horne, which argued that Australia's success was due to luck rather than merit.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • Origin:
The phrase "The Lucky Country" was coined by Australian author Donald Horne in his 1964 book, which explored Australia's culture and its perceived lack of ambition and reliance on luck rather than merit.

  • Horne's Thesis:
Horne argued that Australia had achieved its prosperity through luck, riding on the coattails of its historical ties to Britain, and that Australians were generally conservative and unambitious.

When I had a quote for Copper Coating (which I would take up if I had an unexpected windfall) it included masking skin fittings and then putting hard antifouling on them afterwards. I don’t know why!
