Slab reefing sail cover zip has gone

I have a Seldon slabreefing pack on the zip has gone on my sail cover.
Do I have to remove the main sail to remove the sail cover to get a new zip sewing on advice on how to do this would be appreciated

If your mainsail has a rope in its foot that slots into the boom then you will need to remove the main to release the stack pack.

And conversely if loose footed should be able to remove the cover with the sail still on. Clearly needs a few sail ties to keep the sail tightly stowed. And I put a rope round the sail cars and pull up slightly with a halyard at the front and another halyard at the back to lift the sails weight from the cover (not necessary with smaller sails, but is for a large heavy fully battened sail).
