I am renewing the floor of my alicraft,at present it is in plywood, the area opp 3sq mete. IT as 3 lift up sections 2 for engine 1 for batt .can enyone advise on best materials

To be honest, Plywood! Not the real WBP marine, but very good quality external ply, like bruynzeel or similar. Seal all the edges with epoxy before painting. You could of course go for teak and holly striped flooring, but it's not cheap!

I have recently fitted new flooring to our boat. It's teak and holly - got it from K.J.Howells. Supplied a cutting sheet and had some bits lipped in teak. Looked absolutely stunning when I got it. All the holly lines lined up despite the lipping. Amazing job. You can see some pictures of it at http://www.k.j.howells.dial.pipex.com - ask for Rob. Definitely recommended but as Colin says - not cheap!.
