Hi

Just a thought -

How about starting with the Fox's Two Rivers Race (21st July I think). All you need is someone with you who can row, run and drink plenty!

Bound to be one or two of those around these parts!

It may be good for some who have no sails on their pride and joy or feel it is unsuitable for such an event.

And what is meant by 'if she's a woman, that changes everything'? For better or worse? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

For the better - much better.
Had an "Uncle Albert"-type character in mind /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Doug, if you make it, I have a bottle of Red in Bradwell to help you over the trauma.

I can vouch for this man, he is a vat of nautical knowledge, not related to sailing. All round good egg though, but drives a German car.
Not proven if he functions at 20 degrees of heel.
A good raconteur, but I am unsure of his cooking abilities.

Recommended.

So far the weather forecast does not look very encouraging for a trip South. I might just stay in the rivers and catch up with you guys some other time. But I shall make a decision later on as forecasts are notoriously inaccurate. Thanks for all the helpful advice and encouragement. Hope to see you all soon.

You're more than welcome B , as for the weekend , we're playing by ear at the moment because as Doug says , the forecasts are notoriously innacurate . The trip from Ostend back to Ramsgate a few weeks ago was looking really bad but apart from getting soaked it wasn't too bad . Individual decisions obviously respected though

Depends on Bradwell Air Traffic Control. They will pick a spot based on your beam/length/draught. In general, they send us to the far end, cos we have a fat behind. Failing that, I'll bet we will be found milling around near the bar/clubhouse.
Do you eat curry?

BTW, ask Guapa for a forecast, he's good. Bet he say 2-4 Variable. Worked for me last time when everyone else was calling mountainous seas. We did see a couple of small twisters, but they looked like 2-4 variable /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
