Fed up and feel like a moan.

BTW, ask Guapa for a forecast, he's good. Bet he say 2-4 Variable. Worked for me last time when everyone else was calling mountainous seas. We did see a couple of small twisters, but they looked like 2-4 variable

You can't go wrong with a 2-4 variable /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's Met Office speak for "We haven't got an ffff-ing clue". /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I just love 2-4 Variable - it makes sailing so much more "interesting"

Build yourself a pilothouse!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks

She's a Gib'sea 77. Regularly described as 'one of the last solid boats built by Gib'Sea'.

well I for one am glad she is solid /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You could also be described as solid - which in no way defines your own seaworthi ness /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I was talking about the boat /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

he was talking about me /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Googled gib sea 77
displacement = 1953 kg

so she is much light than i would have guessed

more rockin and rollin than i assumed to on my little sports cruiser /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

You'll enjoy the sailing experience Doug , it's a lot slower than you're used to but much nicer in other ways /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif just don't worry when the boat seems to be listing right over /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif it's supposed to do that sometimes so it doesn't mean get ready to jump /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No Bernie, I was talking about your robustly framed, hewn from oak crew.

I always had a liking for the 77, and had an 84 next to us for one winter in the yard. Look at the last Gibsea 37 in 2004 when we were looking at buying, and wernt impressed with the last of them at all.

I see that you have quite happily recommended poor Dougie into my tender care. What I am worried about is what poor Dougie has ever done to you lot that you should deem it appropriate for his first taste of sailing to beating into the teeth of a strong wind and driving rain; being tossed about wildly in the North Sea in a little plastic boat. Never mind about the 'sometimes it may heel over'. It is likely to be like a rubber duck in a washing machine! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

...er sorry, got to go, my phone's ringing. Think it might be Doug phoning... what's that Doug? Leaving the country?

He likes the rubber duck in a washing machine feeling really /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Come back Doug , you forgot your passport /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Just off to Newmarket for a racing evening with chaps from work.
Then on down to the boat.

Nice and sunny in Cambridge at the minute.

Hope to see you all at Bradwell.

Hi Bernie

I have not met any of the guys yet but do get a giggle reading the posts here, If you ever get to the head of the crouch stop off at fambridge and look us up, we can normally be found proping up the bar in West Wick YC in the marina. My first mate ( wife when she is reading over my shoulder) would love to chat with you about boats and sailing

BTW we also own one of the solid older Gib'Seas' a 106 solid as a rock.
Also a member of the Gib'sea association which is handy for asking for info about our make of boats

Hello you lot.

I'm a bit miffed. I keep my boat at Bradwell but I have to go to London on Saturday afternoon and to 'a do' on Sunday so I can't get there to meet you all. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Actually, I just wanted to make sure you didn't do any damage to my lovely 'Sabre' on A33 /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Not that they let riff raff on A pontoon /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif there's enough of us there already /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oh and we love watching you all using the fuel pontoon, carefully placed as it is to cause maximum chaos /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

See you one day

It's a pity you're not going to be there , it's looking like there's going to be quite a large gathering this time . Ah well , there's always the next time

Looking forward to a few /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Hi Bernie

We haven't met, but I'm the other half of Pipedream. If you are still looking for crew then I'd be interested. Pipedream is often out of commission, and Alan does a lot of solo sailing so I tend to miss out. On hols until the end of Aug, but free after that. Amanda
